Steve, I completely respect your point on 'Scophile' but I love it for the animal that it is: a vehicle for VINNIE'S playing. The song should have been called 'Colaiutaphile' though. Maybe the title was a joke since "Sco" seems fairly tame on the tune. As for being asked to go 'left field'; it's possible. He has certainly been asked to do worse. Listen to Don Henley's 'In the Garden of Allah'. Whoever asked Vinnie to play that Zeppelin 'Good Times Bad Times' groove, almost exactly, made a gross error in judgement. Great groove, just not with that song.IMHO

1> Seven Days, Sting "Ten Summoner's Tales"
2> Milza, Elio E Le Storie Tese "Eat The Phikis"
3> Si Bastasen Un Par De Canciones, Eros Ramazzotti "Eros"
...a couple of oddballs here, because the last two were stuff he did for Int'l artists (both from Italy) and didn't require virtuoso playing, but just what he played - PERFECT!.

If everyone wishing to play like Vinnie or Dave could, it wouldn't give us anything to work for.

Yeah, Seven Days is ridiculous. SO tastey!! How many people can groove that well in five? He makes it sound so much easier than it is.

Quick Q?
Anyone hear the live Gospel CD by Ron Kenoly, called We Offer Praises? He tears that set up!!! Don't know how he got the gig to do a live Gospel show in Italy, but having a name like Vincenzo Colaiuta might have had something to do with it...

I found that Ron Kenoly CD in a used CD shop.
I was quite pleased. Vinnie and Abe Laboriel are tight.

1) Hands down, "Seven Days." Musical perfection.
2)Dudes, I don't have song titles cause I have a burned copy...but there's a tune on the Mathieson Potato album where he forces 7 into a shuffle in 4. Absolutely slays me.
3) Toast for Eli, MD Fest 2000 video. Watching as I type.
